About Pickleball

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, combining elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It's played on a smaller court with a lower net, making it accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels.

Basic Rules

  • Pickleball is played on a court that's 20 x 44 feet (similar to a badminton court)
  • The ball must bounce once on each side before players can volley (the "double bounce rule")
  • There's a 7-foot no-volley zone (the "kitchen") on each side of the net
  • Games are typically played to 11 points, and you must win by 2
  • Points can only be scored by the serving team

Equipment Needed

  • Pickleball paddle (similar to an oversized ping-pong paddle)
  • Plastic ball with holes (similar to a wiffle ball)
  • Court with a net (tennis courts can be temporarily converted)
  • Comfortable athletic shoes and clothing
